Provides direct, consultative, and supportive diagnostic and therapeutic services for communication and oral motor disorders to students, faculty, and staff members to enhance the students’ potential for learning and assist students in the acquisition of functional performance skills needed to access, participate in, and benefit from, the educational environment. 

  • Provides direct and consultative service, treatment, and intervention for communication and oral motor disorders of students in accordance with regulations, standards, and guidelines defined by the Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD), American Speech/Language and Hearing Association (ASHA), Code of Ethical Practice, Health Insurance Portability & Accountability Act (HIPAA), the students’ Individual Program Plan (IPP) and Individual Education Plan (IEP), N.J. Department of Education (DOE), the student’s approved behavior plan, and established Bancroft policies and procedures.
  • Conducts diagnostic assessments of the need for communication and oral motor skills for individual students, as needed or as assigned, to provide a comprehensive student profile:
    On an ongoing basis, determines the need for therapeutic intervention, level of intellectual functioning,
    communication and oral motor abilities, and achievement performance;
    • Working in tandem with external Audiologist, reviews records of students and interprets the results of audiological testing to determine and follow-up on specific therapy, treatment, and intervention required for individual students.



Masters degree in Speech Language Pathology to include a National Certificate of Clinical Competency (CCC) from the American Speech, Language, and Hearing Association (ASHA) preferred. N.J. State Certification as Speech Language Therapist required
