    Bancroft is currently seeking a Senior Revenue Accountant.

     

    Bancroft is a leading service-provider for children and adults with autism, other intellectual or developmental disabilities, and those in need of neurological rehabilitation.  We provide a full continuum of highly effective services, including special education schools, vocational training, day and residential programs, both on-campus and in the community, and in-home and outpatient rehabilitation services.  We provide services in New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Delaware.

    Responsibilities

    Position Summary:

    Performs routine to moderately complex revenue accounting activities, analyzes financial data, and prepares related revenue accounting reports in accordance with established general accounting policies and procedures

     

    Essential Responsibilities:

    Reviews, monitors, and analyzes revenue data for organizational accounts; ensures expenditure control and compliance with funding and reporting requirements, approved Bancroft accounting policies, and general accounting policies and procedures:           

    • Prepares monthly reconciliation of the accounts receivable balances (deferred, prebilled and current accounts receivable balances) per the billing system to the general ledger. This includes the preparation of the monthly journal entries to record deferred, prebilled, current revenue and revenue adjustments to the general ledger.
    • Prepares monthly accounts receivable work papers and reconciles accounts to the trial balances.
    • Updates and maintains monthly revenue summary schedule to be reviewed by the Senior Director of Revenue and Vice President of Finance.
    • Reviews and analyzes monthly program revenue accounts  to ensure that revenue is properly recorded on the general ledger. Prepares the necessary journal entries with supporting documentation to appropriately adjust accounts.
    • Works with Program leaders to help them understand revenue variances and opportunities.
    • Constructs routine and moderately complex spreadsheet applications, prepares financial data for input into accounting systems, and generates various accounting reports, as necessary.
    • Interacts with external auditors and provides revenue accounting data, as required.
    • Performs other related revenue accounting responsibilities, as required. Remains flexible and adaptable in work schedules and work assignments as defined by organizational and department needs.

    Qualifications

    Education & Experience:   BS in Accounting or Finance required plus a minimum of three year of accounting experience, preferably within a healthcare setting. Knowledge of billing applications is desirable.

     

    Special Skills:  Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills required. Proficiency with MS Office software package required, particularly Word and Excel. Proficiency with Lotus and accounting software also required. Valid driver’s license in incumbent’s legal name and current address with no provisional restrictions. Minimum 18 years of age.
