Bancroft is currently seeking a Special Education Paraprofessional with American Sign Language skills to work 1 to 1 with a student in our Transition Education program.
About the Bancroft School Transition Education Program
Over the years, Bancroft has continued as a leader in our field, making our extensive experience just one of the many benefits of a Bancroft education. The Bancroft Post-Secondary Preparation & Transition Program has successfully supported hundreds of students with autism and other intellectual or developmental disabilities in their transition from school to jobs and adult programs.
The program provides vocational training and job-placement for students ages 18, and is based at Bancroft’s main campus in Haddonfield, N.J. For students with a higher level of independence, Bancroft offers an advanced version of the program at Camden County College in Blackwood, N.J
Our Special Education Paraprofessionals assist in the planning and implementation of classroom instruction within an assigned area of functional, developmental, vocational, and/or transitional curriculum in elementary or secondary education in accordance with the Individual Education Plan (IEP).
Our Special Education Paraprofessionals Work directly with the assigned student on a one-to-one basis in accordance with levels of supervision, the IEP, and the established behavior plan.
In support of Teacher, our Special Education Paraprofessionals complete various paperwork; e.g., incident reports, student progress reports, behavioral rewards, etc., utilizing a system of documentation that is professional, efficient, accountable, and conforms to federal, state and School policies and procedures.
Our Special Education Paraprofessionals provide crisis intervention, as needed, through de-escalation techniques, staff support, and assistance. Follow state-approved emergency procedures and utilizes Bancroft-approved crisis intervention techniques at all times.
