    Learning and Development Specialist

    Bancroft is a leading service-provider for children and adults with autism, other intellectual or developmental disabilities, and those in need of neurological rehabilitation.  We provide a full continuum of highly effective services, including special education schools, vocational training, day and residential programs, both on-campus and in the community, and in-home and outpatient rehabilitation services.  We provide services in New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Delaware.

    Reporting to the Director of OD & Learning, the Learning and Development Specialist is responsible for all phases of the learning and development cycle: needs assessment through evaluation, mainly focusing on leadership and professional development. The specialist will plan, coordinate, and deliver company-wide solutions in areas including change management, leader and high potential development, organizational and team effectiveness initiatives.



    1. Help designs and develop curriculum; creates learning objectives, participant materials, guides, as well as supporting documentation for courses and programs.
    2. Facilitates learning using a variety of instructional techniques and formats such as simulations, team exercises, group discussions, videos, and interactive lectures, including offering learning opportunities based on operational needs.
    3. Apply evaluation tools to measure learning solution effectiveness and its impact on performance.
    4. Administer learning, talent and performance technologies including:  build and manage online learning curriculums, track/report learning and performance records and leverage a variety of learning technologies/multimedia to ensure effective and efficient program delivery.
    5. Serves as a liaison to class/program participants, providing coaching and support to contribute to a successful learning experience.
    6. Delivers customized training and team/organizational effectiveness solutions based on business needs and requests.
    7. Assist with various learning and development / organizational development initiatives and special projects as assigned.
    8. Performs various activities directly related to learning and development; e.g. scheduling of rooms, scheduling of speakers, ensures cleanliness of facilities, performs room set-up and breakdown, prepares class materials, orders supplies, orders food and beverage, maintains inventory of supplies, program certificates, etc.
    9. Serve as one of the LMS Site Administrators.
    10. Performs other duties as required or assigned.


      • Bachelor’s degree in business, organizational development, adult learning, or similar degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
      • 2-3 years of related experience, including facilitating leadership and professional development programs.
      • Strong written and oral communication skills, experience in communicating effectively with a diverse group of individuals.
      • Experience with online learning management systems.
      • Demonstrates intermediate facilitation skills, both in the classroom and virtual environments.
      • Demonstrates intermediate skills in all phases of instructional design/delivery.
      • Demonstrates working knowledge of e-learning development software and learning management systems.
      • Has a high level of attention to detail, quality, and results focus.
      • Certification in Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, Strengths Finder, DiSC and/or related assessment preferred.
