Overview

Bancroft is looking for a TEMP Benefits Administrator. Must be proficient in Excel and UKG.

 

The Benefits Administrator is responsible for administering Bancroft’s employee benefits programs with a focus on compliance, communication, and employee education. This role develops and facilitates benefit training sessions, including group  and video-based formats, and plays a key role in annual Open Enrollment activities. Responsibilities include benefit reporting and analysis, processing benefit requisitions, and ensuring compliance with relevant policies and regulations such as COBRA, HIPAA, and ERISA. The Benefits Administrator serves as a resource to employees and managers regarding benefits eligibility, coverage options, and policy interpretation. Additionally, this role develops vendor relationships, leads enrollment issue resolution, and evaluates benefit plan effectiveness through regular reporting and data analysis, providing thoughtful recommendations. 

Responsibilities

  1. Develop and facilitate benefits training programs (group, individual, and video-based), including content creation and delivery for Open Enrollment, new hire orientation, and ongoing education based on trends or data insights.
  2. Serve as a subject matter expert on employee benefits by advising employees and managers on plan design, eligibility, coverage options, and policy interpretation, ensuring compliance with COBRA, HIPAA, ERISA, and internal policies.
  3. Lead benefits enrollment and issue resolution by partnering with vendors and internal stakeholders to manage escalations, ensure accurate processing, and resolve complex eligibility, billing, and enrollment discrepancies.
  4. Analyze and report on benefits data to evaluate plan effectiveness, cost trends, and utilization, providing recommendations to improve programs and support decision-making by HR leadership.
  5. Manage annual Open Enrollment processes, including planning logistics, coordinating communications, developing materials, and collaborating with vendors and internal teams.
  6. Partner with Payroll and Finance to ensure accurate processing of employer contributions and employee deductions, reconcile benefits invoices, and resolve discrepancies proactively.
  7. Oversee benefits compliance activities, such as ACA tracking, benefits eligibility audits, plan documentation, and vendor data feeds, ensuring timely and accurate submissions.
  8. Design and maintain benefit process documentation, standard operating procedures, and audit tools to ensure consistency, operational efficiency, and compliance.
  9. Support benefit plan development and vendor evaluation through research, benchmarking, and collaboration with the Benefits Director to inform plan design and carrier selection.
  10. Develop and maintain benefit communications across various channels, including presentations, summary plan descriptions, new hire materials, and digital content to enhance employee understanding and engagement.
  11. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education 

Bachelor's degree preferred.

Experience

3 years of prior Benefits Administration experience or related field is required. 

Special Skills

  • Working knowledge of Benefits Administration
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel, report auditing (v-lookup, etc), and basic data analysis 
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Confidence with public speaking and presentation abilities
  • Familiarity with Human Resources Information Systems

 

Salary range - $28.85 – $34.13
