Responsibilities

Creates and coordinates the development and implementation of Individual Service Plans (ISPs) for persons served at specific Program sites under the supervision of a Behavior Analyst. Conducts, develops, and implements functional behavior assessments for persons served at program site. Develops, evaluates, and confirms clinical outcomes of behavior plans to ultimately ensure a functionally sound behavior plan as needed for persons served with the supervision and oversight of a behavior analyst. Coordinates and creates agenda for family and funder contact. Coordinates health care and behavioral needs. Responsible for training and mentoring and monitoring staff on care delivery. Leads IDT process and responsible for timely documentation. Advocates on behalf of persons served.

  1. Under the clinical supervision and oversight of the Behavior Analyst:
    • Oversees and conducts skills assessments in accordance with the Individualized Support Plan (ISP).
    • Develops and implements goals are person centered, functionally relevant, observable and measurable and regularly monitors goals for mastery and troubleshooting.
    • Conducts behavior assessments to include functional assessment/ experimental analysis, preference assessments, and treatment evaluations to assess and treat problem behavior.
    • Develops, implements and monitors least restrictive, empirically validated function based treatments to decrease problem behavior while identifying and promoting functionally appropriate replacement behaviors, and increasing other adaptive living skills.
    • Develops data collection systems to monitor goals, services objectives and behavior intervention progress and effectiveness.
    • Engages in on­going data monitoring and review of data for goals, services objectives and behavior interventions to assess progress.
    • Responds in a timely manner to the lack of progress with the appropriate trainings and/or revisions to plans. 
  2. In support of behavior intervention programs, identifies training needs of managers and staff members and ensures that those needs are met. Develops and conducts training sessions to ensure the ongoing knowledge and ability of managers and staff members to effectively create and implement behavior plans. 
  3. Actively participates as a member of the IDT or TDT to ensure the implementation of empirically validated treatments that have the input of all members of the multidisciplinary team, including but not limited to the person served, guardian, program associates, medical professional, case managers, program management, and ancillary therapies.Utilizes professional written and verbal communication at all times with all members of the IDT/TDT. Dependent upon Program supported, may coordinate meeting logistics, take meeting minutes, record action plans, and perform follow up to facilitate the timely implementation of such plans. 
  4. Actively participates in the screening, pre admission, admission, and transition processes to ensure thorough and timely assessment and program implementation, in accordance with DDD and Joint Commission, and other regulatory and funding agencies, required time frames and procedures. 
  5. Dependent upon program supported, creates and maintains master schedule/calendar of ISPs on an ongoing basis for persons served to ensure ISPs are completed and distributed in accordance with The Department of Human Services, The Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD), Division of Children and Families (DCF),and other licensing or state agency requirements. 
  6. Maintains complete and accurate persons served files in strict accordance with The Department of Human Services, The Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD), Division of Children and Families (DCF),and other licensing or state agency established requirements. 
  7. Ensures progress monitoring via timely reviews in accordance with The Department of Human Services, The Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD), Division of Children and Families (DCF),and other licensing or state agency established reporting requirements. 
  8. Dependent upon program supported, prepares all aspects of the annual ISP meeting and attends meetings for persons served in accordance with DDD requirements. Prepares and attends all meetings as required by other licensing or state agency’s requirements. Completes and disseminates all documentation required for meetings. 
  9. Reviews and coordinates with the Program Manager on all consultation from medical and therapeutic consultants to ensure adherence to care plan and adherence to medical orders. Works with nurse case manager and Program Manager to ensure person served health and wellness. Works with Dietitian and Program Manager to coordinate nutritional planning. 
  10. Specific to all behavior intervention plans, compiles and analyzes data, creates graphic illustrations, acquires consents, and consolidates data for subsequent presentation to, and approval/reapproval of the IDT/TDT, the Behavior Management Committee (BMC), and Human Rights Committee (HRC) as required. 
  11. With the Program Managers, ensures proper staffing levels and work distribution within assigned Program site in accordance with levels of support and program descriptions. 
  12. In collaboration with the Program Manager, manages the ongoing job performance of program staff; develops and communicates performance goals, completes performance evaluations within established timeframes; provides feedback, develops and takes action on performance improvement plans, and determines and implements disciplinary action as needed. 
  13. Appropriately delegates work responsibilities and supports the professional development and career growth of program staff by identifying and providing ongoing training in accordance with state agency guidelines. 
  14. Performs other related duties as necessary and dependent upon Program supported; e.g., may conduct staff training, etc. Remains flexible and adaptable in work schedules and work assignments as defined by Program needs. 

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of six months experience working with individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities required. In programs where the incumbent is required to serve as a Qualified Intellectual Disabilities Professional (QIDP), an additional 6 months of prior experience is required. 

 

Enrollment in a graduate program in Applied Behavior Analysis preferred. Prior work experience applying and implementing the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis is preferred.
