We are seeking a Benefits Accountant to join our Corporate Office in Cherry Hill, NJ. This role will be responsible for reconciling vendor and payroll data, ensuring benefit plan accuracy, and supporting budgeting, audits, and compliance across all employee benefits programs.
Performs routine reconciliations of all benefits-related charges, including employer-sponsored, voluntary, retirement, leave and ACA. Ensures compliance with Bancroft policies and procedures, state and federal laws and regulations, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
On a bi-weekly basis, analyzes and reconciles vendor data with UKG to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
Obtains vendor reports and performs monthly reconciliations for all benefit plans, including Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, STD/LTD, Voluntary Benefits, Pledges, 403(b), and others as applicable.
Reviews ACA eligibility reports from UKG; recommends necessary eligibility corrections.
Coordinates with third-party leave management to verify accurate benefits for employees on FML, PSL, and WC leave.
Bi-weekly, reconciles reports from the third-party 403(b) plan administrator.
Verifies employee elections and employer contributions; researches and resolves discrepancies as needed.
Provides backup and support for other employer-provided benefits (e.g., tuition reimbursement, student loans, expense reimbursements).
Participates in the annual 403(b) audit by preparing reports and assisting auditors with requested data.
Assists in preparing the annual benefits budget and analyzing payroll budget vs. actual results.
Researches benefit-related transactions and performs special assignments as required.
Education & Experience:
What Sets You Apart:
Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial recordkeeping, and compliance regulations, especially within healthcare settings.
Familiarity with finance, budgeting, cost control, and current federal, state, and local accounting standards.
Ability to follow policies and procedures to ensure regulatory compliance.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, presentation, project management, and organizational skills.
