Location: Cherry Hill

Employment Type: Exempt, Full Time, In Person

Reports to: Chief of Legal

Salary: $118,541- $147,821

 

The Director of Compliance & Privacy Officer oversees and ensures compliance with all regulatory requirements and standards related to health services within the organization. Manage and direct the day-to-day operations of the Corporate Compliance Program. Develop, implement, and manage compliance policies, procedures, and training programs to mitigate risks and promote ethical practices. The role involves collaborating with various departments, including the legal team, clinical operations, program operations, quality management, and members of the leadership to assess compliance needs, conduct audits, and address any identified issues. The Director of Compliance & Privacy Officer serves as a resource for staff, providing guidance on compliance matters and fostering a culture of integrity and accountability. Additional duties and responsibilities include:

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive compliance policies and procedures specific to all services provided throughout the Bancroft  organization.
  • Chair the Compliance Committee and actively lead meetings, facilitate discussions, and encourage active participation by all committee members.
  • Ensure clinical and operational policies are updated to reflect changes in regulations and industry standards.
  • Implement effective strategies for communicating policies to staff and ensuring understanding and adherence.
  • Develop and deliver compliance training programs for staff, including clinicians, administrators, and support staff.
  • Stay abreast of federal, state, and local regulations governing our services, including HIPAA, Medicaid, CARF, and other relevant laws.
  • Direct, design and execute a Compliance Risk Assessment and corresponding Work Plan
  • Design and conduct compliance audits
  • Assess methods and procedures used to store and transmit PHI; identifies security or other compliance risks and researches and recommends improvements
  • Partner with senior leaders to align compliance strategies with business objectives
  • Serve as the point of contact for regulatory authorities and external compliance auditors
  • Investigate reports of compliance violations, and collaborate with internal and external counsel as appropriate to develop recommendations for corrective action and resolution
  • Oversee compliance hotline infrastructure and investigation
  • Monitor training programs for effectiveness and modify training schedule, methods and materials as appropriate to foster clear understanding of compliance responsibilities and ethical expectations across the organization
  • Serves as the internal subject matter expert on Privacy laws, including HIPAA, maintaining current knowledge of HIPAA laws and regulations, and any other applicable federal and state privacy laws or regulations
  • Report on changes in applicable laws and regulations and provides training as needed
  • Governance support to ensure consistent application, update and maintenance of documented governance practices for decision-making, accountability and risk management.
  • Prepare dashboard, reports and other summaries of compliance program activities
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education:

Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree or JD preferred. 

 

Qualifications:

At least 5  years of compliance, audit, and regulatory affairs experience in a hospital, health system, or medical staffing environment required

2+ years of progressive responsibility in a leadership role responsible for onboarding and compliance for travel nurses and high-volume clinicians is required

Experience leading a team with the ability to scale-up as the business continues to grow

Expertise in requirements imposed by federal and state laws, regulations, regulatory guidance, and industry standards

Experience conducting risk assessments and developing remediation plans

Expert level understanding of rules and regulations pertaining to compliance programs required

Ability to operate in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
