Bancroft is seeking a Financial Analyst to join our team.

 

Responsible for compiling and analyzing financial information and related business analytics and metrics to provide management with decision making tools.  Responsible for the preparation of external cost accounting reports, and other external financial reports, in accordance with established general accounting policies and procedures.  Independently performs moderately complex to extremely complex analysis of financial data.  This position interacts with all levels of administration and operations in a collaborative team environment.

Responsibilities

  1. Financial Analysis
    • Develop, track, analyze and communicate the key metrics and drivers of the company’s performance against history, budget, forecast, and strategic plan
    • Assist in the recommendation of actions by analyzing and interpreting data and making comparative analyses
    • Based on detailed analytics, create actionable information that results in identifying trends and opportunities for improvement in company performance
  2. Reporting
    • Increases productivity by developing automated reporting/forecasting tools
    • Assist in the development and maintenance of various financial models used to support decision making
    • Identify, collect and monitor data required for creating financial models
    • Ensures the accuracy of detailed line items, and submits financial, and other, reports to the appropriate parties in accordance with established timeframes. 
      • This includes but is not limited to the New Jersey State Department of Education. New Jersey DDD, Delaware and Pennsylvania reporting requirements.
  3. Provides operational support to program in analysis of their financial performance and determining areas of improvement. Prepares ad hoc analysis and benchmarking for services lines and teams including analyzing raw financial data as well as compiling reports, graphs and presentations as needed.
  4. Works with Finance leadership on special projects as needed, willingly accepts and accurately completes other duties as requested to assist with departmental functions and remains flexible and adaptable in work schedule and work assignments as defined by organizational and department needs. 
  5. Abides by the Bancroft Code of Ethics, Mission Statement, and Vision Statement in promoting ethical behavior, establishing relationships and providing guidance in decision-making situations.
  6. Maintains effective verbal and written communications with colleagues, those served, and their family members and/or guardians when applicable. 

Qualifications

Education & Experience:

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance preferred; 5+ years of progressive responsibility; 

Not-for-profit industry experience preferred. 

 

Special Skills:

Effective knowledge of financial analysis and budgeting practices and procedures and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.  Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, along with superior attention to detail.  

Financial planning, budgeting forecasting and analysis experience and the ability to synthesize complex business data and reach sound and insightful conclusions.  Expertise with MS Office particularly Excel and Word.  Experience with SalesForce and Adaptive Planning preferred.  Excellent planning and communication skills, strong attention to detail and ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
