Bancroft is actively seeking highly motivated individuals for our Safety Ambassador opening working with children with developmental disabilities.  This position will be based in our Lindens Stabilization Program in Mount Laurel, NJ.

Responsibilities

Provides oversight, guidance and instruction to direct support professionals relative to crisis de-escalation and approved crisis intervention techniques.  

  • Ensures program site operates in accordance with the organization’s quality standards for safety, cleanliness, and comfort as well as adhering to state licensing and accreditation standards.
  • Responsible for monitoring environmental safety risks for individuals served, staff, and visitors.
  • Aids in the resolution of problematic/dangerous situations that may occur for individuals served within a specific Program or job site.  
  • Prepares for, and promptly responds to, emergency situations to ensure the safety and security of the program employees and individuals served at all times promotes ethical behaviors, establish relationships and provide guidance in behavioral crisis situation. 

  • As required by specific program needs, assists assigned individuals served with leisure activities, schoolwork and/or vocational activities.

Qualifications

We’re Hiring Compassionate Team Members Who: 

  • High school diploma or equivalent required with a minimum of one year of work experience in Human Services or related field required.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in written form required.
  • Effective interpersonal skills, a strong desire to work with neurologically- challenged individuals required.
  • Interventions and Medication certification within first 90 days of employment required.

The current minumum starting hourly pay rate for this position is: $19.69 + a program differential of $1.50 per hour.
